If the internet is more awesome than it was in 1995, Karen would like to claim a very tiny piece of the credit. For more than 15 years Karen has helped businesses create better digital products through the power of user experience design and content strategy. She is Managing Partner at Bond Art + Science, a UX consultancy she founded in 2006, and formerly VP and National Lead for User Experience at Razorfish. She's led projects for dozens of publishing clients, including The New York Times, Condé Nast, The Atlantic, and Time Inc. Karen teaches Design Management in the MFA in Interaction Design program at the School of Visual Arts in Manhattan, which educates students on how to run successful projects, teams, and businesses. Her book, Content Strategy for Mobile, was published in 2012 by A Book Apart.

As executive director of the Baltimore Collegetown Network, Kristen McGuire oversees initiatives to brand and develop Baltimore as a city that attracts, engages, and retains outstanding students. Over the last nine years she has created award-winning marketing campaigns, a regional internship database, and the Collegetown LeaderShape program to get student leaders involved in community service.  Kristen also oversees the nationally-recognized Collegetown Shuttle, numerous student programs, and a $1 million budget.

Prior to joining Baltimore Collegetown, Kristen was an information architect for RWD Technologies where she worked with clients in the online learning, pharmaceutical, and non-profit industries.  She began her career at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County in public relations and creative services.

Stacia Jesner has been strategically directing content for the web for over 15 years. Currently the Senior Web Content Strategist for Johns Hopkins Medicine, Stacia works with stakeholders throughout the institution to translate its excellence and innovation in patient care, research and education into actionable web content. She has previously consulted on content strategy and development for the Cleveland Clinic, major consumer websites and multinational consumer-packaged-goods companies. Stacia has played in the web space since the first-wave dot-com era, during which she was vice president of content and community at iVillage.com. Stacia graduated Hamilton College, and is a member of Phi Beta Kappa.

Symantec Endpoint Management & Mobile Systems Engineering Manager

Kawika Takayama is the Symantec Endpoint Management and Mobile Systems Engineering Manager for Public Sector. His team represents the largest DoD, Federal System Integrators, and Federal Civilian accounts globally. He team is also responsible for the support of State and Local government agencies and Educational Institutions throughout the United States. Primarily focusing on the core of Endpoint Management, the growth of Mobile and Virtualization into the Public sector has become a paramount driver for many government initiatives. As such, Kawika's Systems Engineering team have lead the way for client discussions around industry verticals and analysis and educating customers on emerging trends and technologies.

Kawika has been with Symantec for 7 years and has prior lead the Competitive Intelligence Organization working with organizations such as Tolly Group, AV-Tests, and Passmark. He also supported the Global Strategic Partner Sales Organization which include HP, Dell, IBM, Accenture, and CSC. Prior to joining Symantec, Kawika was the Director Information Assurance and National Security Officer for various government agencies and networks to include DISA, Dept of Navy, Dept of Army, and the NMCI project. Kawika is on the panel of several Cloud Computing and Mobility committees; carries over 50 industry certifications to include ISC2, ISACA, Ec-Council, and NSA; and is also a Certified Ethical Hacker.

Jeanne Ivy

Senior User Experience Architect and Designer

Jeanne Ivy has over 15 years of communications design experience. She specializes in a full range of strategic web services including research and analysis, information architecture, visual design, and usability, and has won several design awards for her work at Systems Alliance. Before joining Systems Alliance, Jeanne consulted for many educational institutions, not-for-profit organizations, and corporations in the Baltimore region, and held creative leadership positions at UMBC and an IT consulting firm. Jeanne has taught graphic and web design at UMBC and Towson University, and instructional design at Johns Hopkins University.  Jeanne holds a doctorate in Communications Design from the University of Baltimore.

Leading custom web development solutions for a variety of complex sites, she has expert knowledge of web best practices and technologies, specializing in usability, user experience, information architecture, accessibility, and content migration. Jasmine’s work has been recognized with numerous industry awards and now serves as a judge for the Web Marketing Association’s WebAwards and Mobile WebAwards. Prior to joining Systems Alliance, Jasmine was the Director of Creative & Client Services at Alexander & Tom, Inc., a digital marketing and communications firm. Most recently, Jason co-led an effort to plan and create a comprehensive news-aggregation database, API, and accompanying website, which launched in September 2012 as the Hub (http://hub.jhu.edu).
